How to practice

Start with a problem from a supported algebra textbook, import your worksheet, or use a blank Scratchpad. Write your attempt with Apple Pencil, then choose a starting nudge, a hint, or feedback on your work. Course practice is organized by textbook, chapter, and section.

The attempt
A learner writes 3x − 2 = 12, then 3x = 14.
A guiding question
Check the first line: when you multiply a bracket by 3, which terms inside the bracket need to be multiplied? Rewrite that line before continuing.
Show the reasoning and check
Distribute to both terms: 3x − 6 = 12. Adding 6 gives 3x = 18, so x = 6. Substitution checks the result: 3(6 − 2) = 12.
